Open Engagement (OE) is an annual artist-led conference dedicated to expanding the dialogue around and creating a site of care for the field of socially engaged art. The conference highlights the work of transdisciplinary artists, activists, students, scholars, community members, and organizations working within the complex social issues and struggles of our time.
2018 was the 10th and final iteration of Open Engagement in its current form. As the organization contemplates the future of the site, the conference explores the idea of sustainability. Conference materials use images and videos from Iceland with a green to blue gradient wash contrasted by heavy black type.

The conference totebags were hand dip-dyed to have the gradient quality of the rest of the materials. Enamel pins donning the number 10 were also produced, referencing the spirit of “years of service” pins.
